Taco Doritos Salad

Donna J's Taco Doritos Salad
Another BIG family hit! This is a delicious, easy dinner and a great dish for parties or gatherings! Play with the dressing and ingredients to create your favorite!
Ingredients
  1. 2 pounds ground beef (cooked & drained)
  2. 1 small to medium onion or several green onions (chopped)
  3. 2 tomatoes (wedged)
  4. 1 can dark red kidney or pinto beans
  5. 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese or Mexican blend
  6. 1 pkg. taco seasoning
  7. 2/3 cup water
  8. 1 head Iceberg lettuce
  9. 1 bottle Thousand Island dressing (8 to 16 oz. as desired)
  10. 1 bag Nacho Cheese Doritos (crushed-large)

Instructions
  1. Thoroughly mix beef, taco seasoning and water.
  2. Allow the meat to cool before mixing with other ingredients.
  3. Combine all ingredients in a large serving dish or bowl, stir in the Doritos just before serving (so they’re maximum crunchy). (Serves 8-10 as a main meal – twice as many when served as a side dish).
Notes
  1. Variations
  2. Feel free to add black olives, corn, avocado or whatever trips your trigger!
  3. Common dressings used are Thousand Island, French, Catalina, Dorothy Lynch and even Buttermilk Ranch.
  4. For more taco flavoring, use 2 packages Taco Seasoning and increase the water used.
