Carmen's Melt-Aways
Another Holiday favorite and a huge hit with the chocolate lovers! Mixed graham cracker crust, chocolate, vanilla and coconut, assembled in appetizing layers and served chilled.
Ingredients
  1. 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  2. 1 cup chopped coconut
  3. ½ cup chopped nuts
  4. ¼ cup sugar
  5. 2 cups powdered sugar
  6. 2 ½ squares unsweetened chocolate (divided – 1square and 1 ½ squares)
  7. 1 Tablespoon milk
  8. ¾ cup butter (divided – ½ cup and ¼ cup)
  9. 2 teaspoons vanilla (divided – 1tsp and 1 tsp)
  10. 1 egg, beaten

Instructions
  1. Melt ½ cup butter and 1 square chocolate in saucepan.
  2. Blend sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, beaten egg, graham cracker crumbs, coconut and nuts into the melted butter/chocolate, mixing well.
  3. Press mixture into 9 x 9 baking dish.
  4. Chill.
  5. Mix ¼ cup butter, milk, powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla.
  6. Spread over crumb mixture.
  7. Chill.
  8. Melt remaining 1 ½ squares chocolate and spread over top of mixture.
  9. Chill.
  10. Cut into squares before firm.
  11. Keep chilled.
