Cynthia’s Cowboy Beans
These cowboy beans are a family favorite! Great side for your BBQ or a main dish served with corn bread!
Ingredients
  1. 1 lb ground beef or pork
  2. 1 12oz package bacon
  3. 1 15.5oz can white beans, drained and rinsed
  4. 1 15.5oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
  5. 1 28oz can Bush’s Vegetarian beans
  6. 1 21.7oz can Bush’s Hot Honey Grillin’ Beans
  7. 1 yellow onion, chopped
  8. 1 Cup Ketchup
  9. 1 to 2 Tablespoons liquid smoke (I use Hickory)

In a large pot
  1. Brown meat, drain and set aside
  2. Brown bacon and set aside to cool, then crumble/chop
  3. Sauté chopped onion in the bacon grease until translucent
  4. Add the meat, beans, ketchup and the liquid smoke and cook on low heat for about 45 minutes to 1 hour; stirring often.
  5. Stir in the bacon bits right before serving.
Notes
  1. Cornbread served with a bowl of these beans, makes a tasty meal.
