Replace the high carb noodles with Lavash bread and forget messing with boiling pasta. This is a delicious family favorite recipe, turned lower carb.

Sauce
  1. 1 pound Italian Sausage
  2. 1 clove garlic, minced
  3. 1 Tablespoon parsley flakes
  4. 1 Tablespoon basil
  5. 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  6. 1 1-pound can (2 cups) tomatoes
  7. 2 6 oz. cans (1 1/3cups) tomato paste
Cheese
  1. 3 cups cream style cottage cheese
  2. 2 beaten eggs
  3. 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  4. ½ teaspoon pepper
  5. 2 Tablespoons parsley flakes
  6. 1 pound Mozzarella cheese, sliced
  7. 2 large sheets Joseph’s™ Lavash Bread

Instructions
  1. Brown sausage and add next 6 ingredients.
  2. Simmer uncovered until sauce is thick (45 minutes to 1 hour), stirring occasionally.
  3. Combine cottage cheese, with eggs, remaining seasonings and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Place one sheet of Lavash Bread in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  5. Spread half the cottage cheese mixture over it.
  6. Lay half the Mozzarella cheese over that.
  7. Spread half the meat sauce over that.
  8. Repeat Layer with remaining ingredients.
  9. Bake at 375° F for 30 minutes.
  10. Let stand 15 minutes then cut into 12 servings.
