Bread, Amish Friendship

Amish Friendship Bread
Traditional Amish friendship bread is made and given with love, passed on through friends and by friends. Do not use any type of metal spoon or bowl for the mixing process. Do not refrigerate the bag. If air gets into the bag, let the air out. It is normal for the batter to rise, bubble, and ferment (the batter will eventually smell a little like red wine). Day 1: The starter bag will have the date on it when it was prepared. Do nothing! Day 2: Mush the bag. Day 3: Mush the bag. Day 4: Mush the bag. Day 5: Mush the bag. Day 6: Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk. Mix within the bag. Day 7: Mush the bag. Day 8: Mush the bag. Day 9: Mush the bag. Day 10: Mixing Day!!
