Belgian Waffles

Recipe straight from Belgium... this is the way waffles "should" taste! Crunchy outside, fluffy inside and oh so sweet. Extremely delicious!
Ingredients
  1. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 3/4 cup sugar
  3. 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  4. 2 large eggs, separated (save whites and yolks)
  5. 1 1/2 cups milk
  6. 1 cup butter, melted
  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  8. Sliced fresh strawberries or syrup

Instructions
  1. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking powder.
  2. In another bowl, lightly beat egg yolks. Add milk, butter and vanilla to the yolks; mix well. Stir into dry ingredients just until combined.
  3. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter.
  4. Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions until golden brown.
  5. Serve with strawberries and whipped cream.
